Having a yeast infection must be one of the most irritating and nasty things. It can often be confusing and worrying about what caused it and what are the symptoms. You also want to know about Preventing Yeast Infections permanently as quickly as possible, as they can often recur.
It's best that we look at what causes it first. Candida Albicans is a yeast that is naturally present and should cause no harm in your body, usually found in the intestinal tract and mouth for instance. When you are healthy and your body has a good slightly acidic environment, this yeast is kept to healthy levels by good bacteria. However, if for reasons we will look at in a minute, the good bacteria drops the yeast can overgrow and take over, causing a Yeast Infection.
Among the most common symptoms are
*Infections in your toe & fingernails
*Intense itching and a burning sensation
*a thick discharge with a "yeasty" odour
*Swollen areas and rashes
*Feeling rundown, migraines and head aches, tiredness & fatigue
*Joint & muscle pain
*Eczema
It can actually be quite confusing as Candida can present so many different symptoms.
So how do we set about best Preventing Yeast Infections?
There can be many causes, but let's take a look at some of the most common.
* A poor Diet. By eating too much sugar ( Sugar imbalances can be why frequent sufferers are Diabetics ). The sugar can "feed" the yeast causing it to multiply and take over. Too much junk food and refined products can turn your body too alkaline upsetting it's natural balance. By eating lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and wholefoods you can help your body regain a more healthful environment.
* Hygiene. It's vitally important to really wash thoroughly and to dry yourself well, particularly in warmer weather and after you have been exercising. As we all know fungi thrives in warm and damp areas and Candida is no exception there!
* Clothing. If you wear lots of tight clothes or non breathable fabrics you will prevent the circulation of air. You will then harbour damp & the infection will get worse. Best to wear cotton or breathable fabric particularly with regard to underwear.
* Medication. Particularly antibiotics. You take these to kill bacteria that is making you ill but, unfortunately they kill all the good bacteria too! The result is the good bacteria are no longer there to keep the Yeast under control so it multiplies and Yes, you've got another infection! Candida can re occur even as many as four or five times a year. Not good!
* A low Immune system. Stress can be a factor here. Also, if you have recently been feeling under the weather. This low immune issue can be a reason why cancer patients and people with HIV can suffer yeast infections frequently.
* Scented products. Deodorants can cause imbalances and are best avoided. Also, strongly scented soaps and wipes.
If you are unlucky enough to still suffer Yeast infections the best way of Preventing Yeast Infections from recurring is to follow a holistic plan. One which will look at all areas and will concentrate on building you up in several ways.
